Terms of Service

Last updated: January 13, 2026

Introduction

Welcome to Sitekeeper. These Terms of Service explain the rules and expectations for using our client portal. By using Sitekeeper, you agree to these terms. If something here doesn't make sense, please reach out—we're happy to clarify.

Sitekeeper is built and maintained by an independent developer, not a large corporation. These terms are written to be fair, transparent, and understandable for small business owners.

What Sitekeeper Is

Sitekeeper is a client portal that helps you manage your website and domain information in one place. Through Sitekeeper, you can:

  • View and manage website and domain details
  • See contact form submissions from your website
  • Track domain expiration dates
  • Contact the developer for updates or changes

Important: Sitekeeper is a management portal, not a web hosting provider or domain registrar. We help you organize and access information—we don't host your website or act as a registrar ourselves.

Your Account

When you create a Sitekeeper account, you're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Don't share your password, and let us know immediately if you think your account has been compromised.

You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account. Make sure the information you provide is accurate and up to date.

Domain Management

Sitekeeper helps you track and manage domain information, but how your domain is handled depends on your specific arrangement:

Domains Managed Through Namecheap

If we purchase and manage your domain on your behalf, it's registered through Namecheap. We'll handle renewals and keep you informed about expiration dates. However, you're responsible for ensuring payment is up to date and responding to renewal reminders.

Externally Owned Domains

If you own your domain through another registrar, Sitekeeper simply tracks the information for your convenience. You're fully responsible for managing renewals and payments with your registrar.

No Guarantee of Renewal

While we make every effort to remind you about domain expirations, we cannot guarantee renewal if you fail to pay, respond to reminders, or maintain an active account. Domain expiration is ultimately your responsibility.

Third-Party Registrar Issues

We're not liable for outages, errors, or issues caused by third-party registrars like Namecheap. If a registrar experiences downtime or technical problems, we'll do our best to help, but we can't control their systems.

Website Files & Hosting

If you download your website files from Sitekeeper, you're responsible for hosting them yourself. Sitekeeper does not provide web hosting services.

We'll provide you with the files you need, but once downloaded, it's up to you to find a hosting provider and ensure your site stays online.

Billing & Payments

Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By subscribing to Sitekeeper, you authorize us to charge your payment method for the agreed-upon fees.

Subscription Fees

Sitekeeper operates on a subscription or service fee basis. Fees are charged according to your plan and billing cycle. You'll be notified in advance of any price changes.

Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we'll notify you and attempt to process it again. If payment issues aren't resolved, your access to Sitekeeper may be suspended until the account is current.

Refund Policy

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you're unhappy with the service or experience technical issues, reach out and we'll work with you to find a fair solution. Refunds are generally not provided for partial billing periods after service has been rendered.

Service Availability

Sitekeeper is provided on a "best effort" basis. While we strive to keep the service running smoothly, we don't guarantee 100% uptime or uninterrupted access.

Occasionally, we may need to perform maintenance or updates that temporarily affect availability. We'll do our best to minimize disruptions and notify you when possible.

Sitekeeper relies on third-party services like Firebase and Stripe. If those services experience outages, it may affect Sitekeeper's functionality.

Your Responsibilities

When using Sitekeeper, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information
  • Keep your login credentials secure
  • Respond to important notifications about your account or domain
  • Pay your subscription fees on time
  • Use the service in a lawful and respectful manner
  • Not attempt to hack, disrupt, or abuse the service

Limitation of Liability

Sitekeeper is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. While we work hard to make the service reliable and useful, we can't guarantee it will always be perfect or meet every expectation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sitekeeper and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. This includes loss of data, lost revenue, or issues caused by domain expiration or third-party service failures.

Our total liability for any claim related to Sitekeeper is limited to the amount you've paid for the service in the past 12 months.

In plain terms: We'll do our best to help you, but we can't be held responsible for everything that might go wrong, especially things outside our direct control.

Termination

You Can Cancel Anytime

You can cancel your Sitekeeper subscription at any time. If you cancel, you'll retain access until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account will be deactivated.

We May Terminate Service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, fail to pay, or misuse the service. We'll give you notice when possible, but in cases of serious abuse, termination may be immediate.

What Happens After Termination

If your account is terminated, you'll lose access to your Sitekeeper portal. We'll retain your data for a reasonable period in case you want to reactivate, but after that, it may be deleted. Make sure to download any important information before canceling.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email or through your portal. Continued use of Sitekeeper after changes take effect means you accept the new terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Northern California.
